Dikesempatan ini, nak ucapkan Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all. =D
Dan telah menjadi tradisi, setiap kali raya, mesti nak tunggu iklan petronas kat tv kan? Here is one of my favorite, iklan raya Petronas 2007. BURUNG MURAI, dedicated to all my family and friends :)
And to the boyfriend who is not coming home for raya, lusa raya tau! jangan lupe! you will always be remembered, especially when I'm eating those scrumptious lemang, rendang... *kejam kejap* takpe. lusa mintak maaf balik. ngehehe :P
If I'm going to write the things that I've done this past two months, I don't think anybody will bother to read kot. So, lets make it interesting, shall we...
In the past 10 weeks, I've been dealing with kids..lots of 'em.
Some of them..

Then, last month, my..

for my syg :)
ngeee~
the most unforgettable moment was when we..
just by a split second! damn we were pissed..just because of the..
that has been going on in LCCT, we couldn't find our way to the..
and this incidence occurred on..
no merdeka for us after all *sigh* but it was an unforgettable moment indeed.. he took the next available..

,
and then comes
ramadhan al-kareem.. happy fasting everyone! I would like to appologize for the things that I've done which may have hurt all of you. sorry, from the deepest of my heart. may we have a blessed ramadhan!
that picture-story wraps up my august-and-early-september post. not in detail of course, I've slept, ate, bath, shop etc. etc. in between lah. =P
"Long ago, men went to sea, and women waited for them, standing on the edge of the water, scanning the horizon for the tiny ship. Now I wait for Henry. He vanishes unwillingly, without warning. I wait for him. Each moment is as slow and transparent as a glass. Through each moment I can see infinite moments lined up, waiting. Why has he gone where I cannot follow?"
From the Prologue of The Time Traveller's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
I'm not embarassed to admit that I do. My 4 years and a half old love life started with that first stare :) Thank GOD I have a pair of working eyes, eventhough I'm myopic. *sigh*
Thats not the real reason why I brought up this topic actually. I accidentally came across a featured article from Yahoo! homepage ; "Subway romance derailed". [click here for the article]. It was a real life story about a man who spotted his so called the girl of his dreams across a New York subway train, and decided to track her down over the internet [click for the website]. Two days later, fortunately, he founds her. Sadly, this fairytail does not end with a happy ending. They broke up two months later.
You know, I thought this kind of situation only happen in the movies. If you can remember about 7 years back, Lance Bass from N*SYNC starred in a movie about how he met a girl in a train and forgotten to ask her number, so he decided to find her. The difference between both of this meeting-a-girl-in-a-train situation is that Lance placed a huge advertisment, and I guess its not that hard for you to figure out the ending but I'll mention it anyway..and they lived happily ever after (typical). Pretty romantic isn't it? Haha. I was a HUGE fan of Lance back then. Unfortunately, since the day that I've founded that both of us have one thing in common, which is attracted to the XY chromosome, I gave him up for good.
So, for those who does not believe in the magic behind love at first sight, think again. You might be cupid's next victim. ;)
p/s: The mellowness of this entry is due to the fact that my love at first sight is flying home in exactly 89 hours and 53 minutes:) YEAY! and the excerpt up there has nothing to do with this whole topic, just sharing some joy out of reading :)
Today: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. High near 85F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%
DESTINATION : BUKIT BINTANG
Should I take the train or should I drive? To tell you the truth, if this situation occurs before the price of petrol shoots up, I'd rather drive. Its not like i'm against public transport or anything. I'm avoiding myself from being chocked to death in the monorail. From past experiences, taking monorail on weekends especially at peak hours is not as easy as falling off a log. Imagine being pushed by a "thousand" people from every sides. And the smell. And the heat. And the molesting..you coudn't even trace the molester.
But at last, I did took the train. LOOK..LOOK..how petrol can drive me into this decision. No wonder la how EVERYTHING dah mahal now...
Luckily, it did not rained. :) So in a sense, i did make the right decison of not trusting the weatherman (but I did bring my umbrella along la :P) However, my predictions about the smell and the molesting was 100% hits the bulls eye. Wutodo, you gotta sacrifice something in order to gain something right.
Taking the train today really bring back a lot of memories from my school years. When we were in high school, my sister and I took the train everyday to go back home and because of that, I've remembered every inch of buildings, roads, trees and even signboard along the way from Hang Tuah/Pandan Indah station to Bukit Jalil by heart. I know, I'm a freak. Normal people don't count trees.
Enough with the train and weather talk. Today was my day out with my two of my close high school buddies whom I've lost contact for nearly 3-4 years. Luckily, facebook saved the day.
Linda (middle) used to be my add math teacher. I'm not fond of math since high school. I can do simple calculations but when it comes to things with weird symbols other than minus, plus, divide or times, I'll frown. I'll still do it but GOD knows how much I hated it. Both of us dreamed of becoming a doctor when we were in form 5. But now, its not a dream anymore, we are on our way to grab that title! *ngagaga* .Ollie (far right; her name is also liyana btw) used to be a little bit tomboyish back then. I was really suprised when I saw her today. She has metamorphosized into this girlish women wearing high heels. And me, I don't know how much I've changed. Probably my fashion sense kot. :p
The best thing about today was I felt like I'm a high school student again.
Sisterhood goes to Bandung again! This was our third trip to Bandung. And to be honest, we never got tired of it. Here is a sneak peek of our 4 days trip.
DAY ONE Our flight was scheduled at 1055am on the 22nd june. I hate flights. Period. If I have a choice, I'd rather take a ship or even row a boat to get there. Nana and high altitude are not best friends. To avoid motion sickness, I took antihistamine just before take-off, so that I can enjoy a peaceful, nausea free ride.
2 hours and 5 minutes later...
Touchdown! Finally, sampai jugak ke bumi Indonesia.
I set my watch one hour earlier as the timezone there is GMT +0700. I walk slowly to the Immigration counter, I can even hear the sound of my breath and the beat of my heart; I think it skipped a beat. God, my autonomic nervous system is going hairwire, it is not following its natural rythm. My hands were shaking like hell, I'm sweating like a pig, and I have a longing to go to the loo. " Ishhh, time ni lah nak nervous....". I took a deep breath, and look outside. There he was, waving at me, smiling. That was the moment, the moment that I have been waiting for 5 months, 2 weeks and 1 day...:)
Tapi, there was a moment of embarassment juga. Boleh pulak an immigration officer asked me to open my luggage. Its not like I'm carrying a highly suspicious stuff in there. Other than my clothes ,there were only one bottle of soy-sauce, a tupperware of beef-rendang and a neatly wrapped present (haha i know meat-related products are definitely a no-no, but who cares, no case of crueztfelt-jacob pon reported in Malaysia. Regarding the neatly-wrapped-present, macamlah aku nak bungkus drugs neatly mcm tu.LOL).
Whatever pon, we landed safely. And our journey begins!
The first day of coursela shopping in Bandung. We went to Jalan Riau and another road which I've forgotten its name. Its only a four days trip, so we really have a tight schedule. No nap time whatsoever. Macamlah kene jet-lag pon..huhu. That night, we went to Paris Van Java, Bandung's finest shopping mall (kapan lagi mau lihat cowok2 bandung yang ganteng2, di sinilah tempatnya dong!).
DAY TWO Off to Puncak, Bogor! Last year we already went to Situ Patengang, inactive volcano etc. So, this year Hafidz planned a trip to Taman Safari Indonesia. It took about 4 hours to get there, eventhough supir tu drive macam F1. The sceneries along the way were breathtaking.
The concept of Taman Safari is very much different from the Zoos in Malaysia. The tourist can drive through the safari and meet the satwas (animals) face to face, but you are not allowed to step out of the car. Feeding the animals is allowed, luckily we bought some carrots and banana along the way. For a pretty brief moment there, we felt like a bunch of 7 year-olds excited to meet the animals. Haha. Sangat best! Imagine lah, Zebras, Llamas, Monkeys and Deers bersepah along the road, poking through our window begging for food. But when we reached the Lions and Tigers sanctuary, we were not allowed to open our window. But I saw Aslan! Sleeping lah tapi, but sangat cute!

DAY THREE Shoppinnggg! Naik bas dari Jatinangor ke Bandung. Naik angkut keliling Bandung. Jumpa Ngamen. Jumpa beggars. Second day was pretty adventurous. Penat jugak lah, but worth every sweat. We even bring along empty backpacks to fill in the things that we've bought. Last year's experience has tought us well.
Backpackers on a mission
Rika and Mas Wisata cum shopping advisor in the angkut
Al-kisahnya begini...
On our way to Jalan Dago, Hafidz singgah ke kedai talipon untuk menambah nilai kartu ku, kerana aku ingin membuat panggilan ke Malaysia. Bak kata Ayu, "muka commercial".
Tetapi tak best lah if its only me yang mendapat nama baru di Indonesia, kok begitu? My sister, Nadia pun tak kurang hebatnya. Lekatlah nama 'cewek sumatra'. Huhu. But takpelah, memang our ancestors from Sumatra pun. My cousin, Kak Ira pulak, nak sangat nama indonesia punya pasal, terlekatla 'Bunga'. And last but not least, unofficially, Hafidz dipanggil Mas Wisata.
DAY FOUR Our last day :( He was not there to accompany us to the airport due to the Judicium which was resheduled to the last minute. God knows how sad I was. Rasa nak tunjuk perasaan sorang-sorang kat situ, mesti confirm2 ada la org sekeliling yg join :P. But what for? I'm a Malaysian and I'll act like one. So, dengan hati yang sedih (aku jela, cewek sumatra dan bunga tak la ade perasaan sgt if he was there or not, but they felt his absence..) we packed our bags, hoping it won't acceed 45kg, eventhough our luggage dah beranak-pinak.
....semoga berjumpa di tahun hadapan, Indonesia ( cewah, belum balik KL dah plan nak pegi tahun depan...)
oopps..lupa, I forgot to mention about the foods there.
only one word to describe it- MANTAP!.
Thanks to our travel guider yang sangat berpengalaman dalam hal-hal makan, we never had any problem regarding filling up the empty tank, but most importantly, there were not even one episode of diarrhoea, which will definitely ruin our trip. We only spent for about Rp 100,000 (RM 35.60) per person for 4 days meal.
The conclusion is, who does not want to come back to this place? (especially me lah..ahahaha)
Jom ke Bandung!
p/s: mind my bahasa indonesia ok. memang rojak. huhu
1. Each blogger must post these rules first. 2. Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves. 3. Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about eight things and post these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. 4. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged, and to read your blog
Okay, before I reveal the hidden agenda behind my secret book of life, I have to warn the readers (if theres any.ahaha), I dont normally do this kind of thing. Due to Anot request, here is it..
I'm younger than the people I usually hang out with. I'm a PTS student. If you dont know what it is, then you are probably in the group of people who was born in the year 1986 or earlier. People who has passed this exam is given a chance to skip standard 4. I took that chance, so was my best friend. The decision I had made back then was really spontaneous. I DID NOT think of the implications that would have hit me in the near future, let alone my whole life. Eventhough I went through A LOT just by being a year older than I supposed to be, I'm grateful of the person I've become today. I went through standard 6 in the same class as my sister and we're in the same batch during high school. And come to think of it, it was the best experience ever. We are BFFL :)
I like to watch cooking related tv programs, especially those in AFC and Travel and Living. And of course, I heart Jamie Oliver's and Nigella Lawson's programs. But the thing is, I'm not the kind of person who will go straight to the kitchen and try the recipie right there and then. I would normally watch the show, think of how delicious the dish is and thats it. The possibility of me trying the recipie is like once in a bluemoon. Lazy is definitely not a factor here. Lack of time, key ingredients and money would be my biggest obstacle.
I have the ability to stain a glass. Macam heroes ability pulak. Let me reconstruct the letters. I know how to paint a glass. I developed this skill during my after-spm-break. Its not that hard as it sounds though. But you really need to have the patience and time in order to produce a nicely painted glass. That is the main reason why I abandoned this so called hobby. I REALLY don't have the time.
Currently, I'm in a LOOOOOONG-distance relationship. Both of us are handling it well. I keep praying that I'll stay sane for another 4 years. InsyaALLAH..and yes! I'm packing my bags, ready to take flight on the 22nd of July with my two of my crakpot sisters. Sisterhood goes to Bandung for the second time in two years! Lets go shopping girls!
When I was in my secondary school years, I developed thiscrazy passion over penpal-ing. I had friends from Germany, UK, India, Ghana, Italy, US, Thailand, South Korea and Iceland. It was fun having your emails replied and getting new friend requests. The part where I enjoyed most would be snail mailing because my friends and I tend to post big parcels and put presents in it. I had received currencies, chocolates and even jewelleries from them! Thank GOD the post-office did not open my parcels.haha!
To date, the longest time I've been away from my family is one week. When I was in Matrix, I manage to go back home every weekend without fail. I'm proud of myself =P. Since I got used doing that, now when I'm in UPM, I got over excited. I go back home everyday.
I love taking pictures. This passion is definitely a hobby which I'm pretty sure I'll be carrying until I'm grey and crooked. But the thing is, I don't have a proper camera. I managed to buy a Kodak Digital Camera when I was 18 using my scholarship money, but now it is on its way to the trash bin :( Now, my future goal is buying a DSLR, Nikon D60probably. If only I can get my hands on this baby...*speechless*
I'm not a frequent blogger. But I'll try to post something every one or two weeks from now.
Now, can I tag people who don't have a blog? But, I'm out of people dah ni. All of the people who has a blog had already been tagged. So, here is the lucky ones:
1. Nadia bt Zainal Abidin 2. Nazirah Mohd Saleh 3. Khairul Hafidz Alkhair b. Khairul Amin 4. Zeela bt Zaharudin 5. Maya bt Zaharudin 6. Arifah Abd Rahim 7. Siti Sarah bt Mohd Shokri 8. Munie Arif
A 5 star movie review by a medical student who is supposed to be filling her brain with difficult medical terms such as Osler-Weber-Renwhat? Syndrome....
Have you ever got attracted to a movie just by looking at its billboard? Ever heard of the term ' love at first sight'? Thats what ordinary people call it. But for me, I call it a dont-need-to-overthink-of-what-movie-you-want-to-watch act.
Let me give you the real picture of what happened in the movie, which was occupied by my sister, my cousin, me, a couple and GSC's-doorman (who opens the exit door 15 minutes before the end of a movie, and never fails to bug me because they let an unconsiderable amount of light entering the hall. go figure)
First 5 minutes..
Kak Long : Kakngah, berape lame lg movie ni nak habis? Me : Kak Ira, jangan cakap movie ni sampai habis pon gambar die camni.... Kak Ira : Aah...ni macam cite Ciplak yg kakira penah tengok dulu je....
[GELAK,GELAK,GELAK]
[tup..tap..tup...tap..->the couple is trying to find their way out, but they failed]
15 minutes later..
It was not 15 minutes actually. The movie was over but it feels like it has just started (cewah....cliche betul..)
Indeed, this time, the dont-need-to-overthink-of-what-movie-you-want-to-watch act was worth it. No doubt about that.
Once is indeed a must-watch movie for movie goers and indie music lovers out there.
Don't feel depressed of its not-very-high definition picture quality as it was captured only using a handycam. Truly a work of art.
Go watch it alrealdy!
